SUMMER BLOOM
Inspired by California, the most beautiful place in the world, this piece has layers to it, layers so deep that they revealed themselves to me when they were fully created rather than me being in the knowledge of what the painting actually is.
This mixed media painting is a true exploration of the creative process, as the layers of plaster and other materials reveal themselves to me as the piece evolves. Each layer adds depth and complexity to the work, creating a rich and multi-faceted piece that is constantly unfolding and revealing new elements. I am pushed to let go of preconceived notions and expectations, and instead allow the painting to guide and inspire me and thus the collective.
